Madam Judy's House
We all have places and spaces that have held wonder, love, and awe. Spirit homes are vessels that take different shapes and forms throughout our lives. There is a yellow house on Campbell Avenue, in Lynchburg, Virginia that is one of my vessels. This spirit home was my Granny’s house, and her place of business. She told fortunes in the parlor of that house, which was in my family for generations. The old yellow house is the anchor for this piece.
Be aware, in this painting there are mysteries unfolding and stories being planted. Ancestors are tending the soil as a child plants seeds and finds roots. Roots which are bringing her all the luck she needs in this lifetime, and beyond. The layers in this piece take time to discover. The symbols embedded here are an invitation to explore and connect.
