sketchbook project
2011 was a return. After my Father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February, then I with appendix cancer in April I had to admit I needed art. Art became a healing process that aided my own recovery. It gave me a chance to rediscover my passion for creating, even though I was struggling with grief, pain and loss. I documented the year in a process with a sketchbook project through the Brooklyn Art Library. This sketchbook toured with this traveling library in 2012 and is now housed at their site in New York. It was my first steps back into being able to call myself a creator.
